Customizable Motors
With over 70 years of motor development, Hankscraft has a deep experience in fractional HP and display motors. We offer various motor customization options, including adapting our standard motor housings or designing and building entirely custom solutions for a wide range of applications.
Fractional-Horsepower Motors
Hankscraft offers several standard motor housings with customizable options, each with a rated output power under one horsepower. Once a housing is selected, the motor can be customized by choosing input voltage, speed (rpm), and shafts to fit requirements.
Standard Motor Housings
Hankscraft standard motor housings are designed for easy customization without additional tooling costs. We offer a selection of seven standard housings, each of which can be customized to your specific needs. When you are ready to begin your motor project, contact us by filling out our contact form.

AC or DC Motor?
Hankscraft offers both AC and DC motors. Choose the type that best suits the specific motor requirements.
Motor styles
Hankscraft offers a variety of motor styles which can be fully customized to meet specific requirements. Common motor styles include:
Gear motor
A compact, efficient device that combines an electric motor with a gearbox for precise speed control and increased torque output. Gear motors are used in diverse applications, including robotics, automation, and conveyor systems. They offer reliable performance and durability. Advantages of gear motors are high precision, low noise, and low maintenance
Stepper Motor
A Stepper motor is a brushless, synchronous electric motor that converts digital pulses into mechanical shaft rotation. Every revolution of the stepper motor is divided into a certain number of steps and the motor must be sent a separate pulse for each step. These motors can be used in a wide range of applications, are durable (long life), and have excellent low speed torque.
DC Brushless Motor
A Brushless DC motor is an electric motor powered by a direct current voltage supply and commutated electronically instead of by brushes like in conventional DC motors. These motors have a long lifespan, are efficient, and low noise.
DC Brush Motor
A DC Brush Motor is an internally commutated electric motor designed to be run from a direct current power source utilizing an electric brush for contact. These motors have a high starting torque, low cost, and are suited for industrial environments.
Mini Water Pump Motor
A Mini Water Pump Motor is a micro AC or DC water pump used to pressurize, circulate, or pump water. Advantages are efficiency, low cost, low noise, and long life.
AC Asynchronous Motor
In an AC Asynchronous Motor the actual speed of the motor is not equal to the synchronous speed of the motor. Advantages of these motors are low cost, reliability, and low maintenance.
AC synchronous Motor
An AC Synchronous Motor is an electric motor that operates at a constant speed, which is dictated by the frequency of the AC (alternating current) power source. The advantages of this type of motor are precise timing, speed of the motor regardless of load (up to stall torque), and energy efficiency when the motor is operated at its synchronous speed.
dISPLAY mOTOR
Display motors are electric motors used for controlled motion in visual applications like rotating signs and turntables. They are versatile and ideal for creating eye-catching displays in industries such as retail and entertainment. Display motors are part of the Hankscraft P.O.P. group. Visit Hankscraft P.O.P.
